5-minute avocado dip

5-minute avocado dip
January, the time of year we start to work on fixing up our diets and making up for the festive indulgence. It can be difficult to break the habit of snacking after Christmas and New Year, but remember having a bite between meals doesn’t have to mean chocolate and cheese. Try this avocado dip for a nutritious and filling snack alternative to help keep you on the right track to becoming a ‘new you’ this year.

Avocados contain more potassium than bananas, they are packed with oleic acids (which reduce inflammation), are high in fibre and are, most importantly, delicious.

Ingredients:

Greek yoghurt

  • Ripe avocado, pitted and peeled
  • ½ teaspoon honey, or to taste
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons lime juice, or to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • 1 garlic clove, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of sea salt, or to taste

Method:

Combine all ingredients in a food processor, process until smooth and season to taste. Enjoy with cucumber slices, breadsticks or tortilla chips.
