Backing of Cooling Appliances

A spokesperson from Gorenje commented: “As of February 2018, every cooling or freezing model we’ve produced has had aluminium flame-retardant backing, a commitment which had and will continue to have financial implications on the business, but one we were prepared to make as a responsible manufacturer. 

“Following our decision to change the backing material on each and every Gorenje fridge or freezer, the new manufacturing process was put in place very quickly, but it’s obviously going to take time for existing stock to work its way out and the new models to make their way to exclusivity in the retailers.

“We would like to reiterate that all of our appliances undergo thorough testing and meet the current required safety standards in the UK.”
