Bundt cake/gugelhupf

Ingredients

  • 600 g flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 20 g yeast
  • 50 g sugar
  • 50 g butter or margarine
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 30 ml milk
  • grated lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons rum
  • 100 g raisins
  • 1 egg for the egg wash

Preparation

1 Pile the flour in a large bowl and make a well on top. Crumble the yeast into the well
2 Add a teaspoon of sugar and some lukewarm milk. Knead and let rise for approximately 25 minutes.
3 When risen, cover the sides with flour and add sugar, butter, and rum. Knead into dough and let rise again.
4 When the dough has risen, add raisins. Place the dough into a greased round cake mould and let rise again.
5 When the dough has risen, transfer it into the oven to bake.
