#FoodSimplified – Chia Seed Pudding
As many of us know, when life becomes hectic and
fast-paced it can be very easy to settle for easy breakfast and snack options.
This simplicity often means we skip on nutritional foods, instead resorting to
quick-fix bites which are high in sugar, salt and fat.
If you’re looking to introduce healthier options to
your diet then chia seed could be a great new culinary companion. Native to
Mexico, “chia” means strength, and these little seeds are plentiful in omega-3
fatty acids, carbohydrates, protein, fibre, antioxidants, and calcium. Their
versatility means they’re great for sprinkling on cereal, sauces, vegetables,
mixing into yoghurt or adding to baked goods.
We’ve opted for a satisfying breakfast dish or
snack by adding chia seeds to almond milk. Add some
honey, cinnamon and fruit and you’ve got a deliciously healthy snack, packed
full of essential nutrients!

- 2tbsp chia seeds
