Gorenje Helps to Raise Money for Breast Cancer Care
The Gorenje UK team and journalists from IPC Media attended a star studded gala dinner and fashion show on 01 October 2008 to raise money for one of the UK’s leading, breast cancer charities, Breast Cancer Care, at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair, London.
The evening was hosted by former tennis star, Annabel Croft and attended by over 600 guests with several notable celebrities lending their support to the cause, including Olympian Denise Lewis, Cherie Booth QC and model and TV presenter Lisa Snowdon.
During the evening, ten luxury packages were auctioned by The Antiques Roadshow’s Tim Wonnacott. Gorenje UK provided one of the most eye-catching lots of the night by donating a one-off pink retro fridge complete with a white gold encrusted Breast Cancer Care Ribbon which fetched £2,600 during a round of frenzied bidding. A staggering £55,000 was raised during the evening.
Loredana Butnaru, Marketing Director of Gorenje UK added “We are delighted to be associated with such an inspirational charity as Breast Cancer Care. To play even a small part in helping those affected by breast cancer is something that we all feel proud of.”
