Nailsea Electrical is the largest independent retailer of electrical appliances in Bristol.
The company was first established by Peter Gilks in a retail shop in Nailsea just outside Bristol in 1982. A few years later, Peter opened a second shop in Bristol on the Gloucester Road and in 1988 was crowned HTV’s Young Businessman of the Year.
Nailsea Electrical is still family-owned but now run by father and son, Peter and Ben, from prestigious 8,000 square foot showrooms with a warehouse on site on the Gloucester Road. They employ a 13-strong support team, including three other members of the Gilks clan and have been shortlisted for the Independent Electrical Retailer of the Year 2011, to be announced in September.
