A+ Energy efficiency

Some models of Gorenje combined refrigerator freezers boast the highest energy efficiency attained to date. A++ energy class allows users to save up to 40 percent of power compared to the A energy class. Such economical operation is the result of excellent insulation, improved door sealing, and state-of-the-art refrigerator system components that cut power consumption to a minimum. By offering products that save considerable amounts of power throughout their useful life, we join you in our mutual efforts to preserve the environment for the generations to come.

No Frost Absolute

Gorenje’s cutting edge No Frost Absolute technology circulates chilled air around the storage areas, reducing the level of humidity in the freezer to prevent the formation of ice on food items and in the appliance interior. Frozen items don’t stick together, which provides a better overview of the freezer contents, while even temperature control helps to preserve the quality, colour and aroma of the stored food. No accumulated ice also means optimal utilisation of the storage space; at the same time, the need for time consuming defrosting is also completely eliminated. In addition to upright freezers, this technology is also incorporated in Gorenje’s fridge freezers. A key competitive advantage of Gorenje fridge freezers is the system which effectively eliminates moisture from the freezer section only, while maintaining the optimal level of humidity in the fridge section of the appliance. This prevents foodstuffs from drying out and ensures optimal conditions for the long-term storage of fruit and vegetables. Your lettuce will stay crisper and fresher much longer than in the models featuring Total No Frost in both sections of the combined appliance.

UseLogic® tehnology

Gorenje fridges and fridge freezers feature intelligent UseLogic® technology, which continuously monitors, adapts and controls the temperature in the fridge and freezer sections of the appliance.

ECO mode

All models featuring LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) displays or touch control screens also boast the energy saving Eco mode, which with at less frequent use ensures optimal temperature conditions, giving you excellent energy savings over time.

Go’n’Save vacation mode

When you leave on an extended vacation, you can simply activate the Go’n’Save vacation mode, which automatically sets and maintains the fridge temperature at 9 °C and the freezer temperature at –18 °C. This will ensure optimal food storage conditions as well as maximise energy efficiency.

Self closing hinge

Should you fail to close the appliance door all the way with push and they stay slightly open, the hinge automatically pulls the door shut. This makes it easier to maintain the correct temperature in the fridge and helps you maximise your energy saving.

Gorenje Eco GREEN tips – What can we do at home?

  • Don’t overfill your fridge. Inside your fridge the cold air needs to be able to circulate as this is how it keeps the food chilled throughout. If your fridge is crammed full the unit has to work even harder to make sure the air can circulate.
  • Keep your freezer nearly full. It’s the opposite of a fridge. Freezer’s work at their most efficient when at least 75% full. The less space available the less the freezer has to do to keep the temperature down.
  • Take care when positioning appliances. Make sure that you try to keep fridges and freezers away from sources of heat, like cookers, or even direct sunlight. If you have to place units close to each other, try to leave a gap between.
  • Get to know your refrigerator. If you know where an item is and where to find it, it will reduce the amount of time you stand in front of the refrigerator with the door open. The longer the door is open the more energy you use, wasting money. Organization is free and saves you both time and money.
  • Most people tend to overlook cleaning the condensing coils. These coils dissipate the hot air. If and when they get dirty the compressor has to work that much harder to get rid of the hot air. In some models the coils are placed on the back of the unit and on others units they are located on the bottom.. In either case you can use a vacuum cleaner or broom to remove the majority of the dirt.
  • For final advice, if you have an older model fridge or freezer you should consider replacing it with a modern more energy efficient one. Just remember to make sure to dispose of your old appliance correctly.
